In our eighth year, RWCSL/Controlled Events continues to thrive and expand and we’re looking for the right person to join our permanent team as a Project Manager across both our resilience projects and delivering event control and communications to a range of events.
Great people are at the heart of our business including our clients, our permanent team, our merry band of freelancers, sub-contractors and suppliers. Our websites provide a good indication of our services: www.rwcsl.com -where our focus is on resilience consultancy and exercises and www.controlledevents.com – where our focus is on event control management and communications provision.
This business is led by its founder (Rob), so passion, commitment and attention to detail are all important attributes for the successful applicant.
WHO WE NEED
We need someone who’s excited about making organisations more resilient and events safer and more successful through effective management and communication. We do this by bringing the best: people, technology and ideas to each project. Our growth and high degree of client retention is no accident – this kind of momentum needs energy and commitment so that clients chose us over our competition.
Like choosing to stay at a boutique hotel over a standard brand hotel we aren’t the cheapest consultancy or provider but we deliver a customised, high quality, professional, personable and repeatable service. To do this we need our new Project Manager to:
⁃ Have experience of resilience, exercises and event control management (to a lesser or greater extent in each discipline).
⁃ Develop and lead resilience projects using prior experience of business continuity and crisis management, often culminating in planning and leading workshops and exercises.
⁃ Managing and coordinating a number of projects simultaneously, from bright idea through to execution.
⁃ Be proactive, keen to bring ideas and a solution focused approached to our projects.
⁃ Be confident in selling themselves and our services.
⁃ Be able to work with a variety of IT platforms including our Log software and radio systems.
⁃ Thrive on variety and be able to take the rough with the smooth; the work can vary from organising hum drum logistics and sorting kit through to highs of being part of a team delivering communications and resilience at high profile venues and locations.
⁃ Be in possession of a full clean UK driving licence and willing to drive to clients up and down the country. For insurance reasons, applicants will need to be over 25 to drive our fleet vehicles.
What we offer
⁃ The autonomy to make a project your own – we thrive on proactivity and the team supporting each other to achieve the most for each project.
⁃ Variety! No week we look the same. Giving you the opportunity to experience in a variety of sectors and specialisms on a routine basis.
⁃ Regular opportunities for continued professional development, both on the job and formal.
⁃ Opportunities to see new places, have contracts all over the UK and many globally.
⁃ Nice people to work with; we would say that, but people are at the heart of what we do.
⁃ A fun work environment where you can enjoy your work, build relationships and enjoy some banter.
⁃ A dynamic, progressive and flexible working environment, involving a mix of working from home, client facing, hotel stays to work on longer projects near to clients and office time (Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire) – you will need to be within a reasonable travel time of this location.
The role is a Full Time Equivalent (FTE) role suiting a professional with several years of experience in the event control/resilience industries and now looking to take on the next level of responsibility. We know how painful application forms can be, so we ask that you send a 2 page CV (customised to the needs of the Job Specification) and a 1 page covering letter/email describing how you can meet our high standards to Rob Walley at firstname.lastname@example.org. Responses that meet the requirement will be invited to a telephone sifting stage then interview – being the right fit for each other will be key. We then move onto reference checks ahead of an offer with a salary matching your level of experience and what you bring to the business. We are looking to have you in place as soon as possible to support emerging projects scheduled from early May at the latest.
